Just moved in? Congratulations on your new home and welcome to historic Inglewood in Calgary! Inglewood prides itself on being the oldest city in Calgary, established in 1875, as well as establishing the first “Main Street” in town.The city has much to offer, from bike trails to a variety of dining and shopping options. If you’re interested in getting to know this rustic community a little better, here’s a list of things to do and places you can visit that will truly give you a taste of what Inglewood is all about:

9th Avenue

9th Avenue in Inglewood is home to a long stretch of small restaurants and eclectic shops and stores that are easily reached by foot. Craving coffee during a morning stroll? Try stopping by Gravity Espresso and Wine Bar. Hungry for a classic? Inglewood Pizza is the place to go. If you’re looking to do some shopping for furniture or clothing, stop by Limitless or Epsy Experience. If you just want to do simple grocery shopping, M&C Grocery isn’t far.

Night Market

If 9th Avenue isn’t enough, stop by one of Inglewood’s Night Markets. On selected days throughout the year, over 50 food and product vendors line 9th Avenue and 10th Street SE between 5 to 11pm. This bazaar-reminiscent market also features live music and unique street food, so come ready to have fun while you shop!

Calgary Zoo

The Calgary Zoo is just across the river, and is one of many great attractions to visit if you’re out with your kids. With a variety of family-friendly programs, cafes, rides, destinations, and habitats to explore, you’re always guaranteed a good time.


The Inglewood Sunfest is a great opportunity for you to see how this town celebrates culture and community. This exciting summer festival welcomes citizens of all ages to gather at Mainstreet Inglewood to engage in all that Inglewood has to offer, including over 200 vendors, street performers, music, and activities for kids to enjoy.
